The failure to nurture and encourage creativity among corporate employees is a tragic denial of a basic human yearning for creative expression. And a monumental waste of human resources.

The indifference or inability of corporations to recognize the immense value of employee creativity might be described as a "ghost" problem. Since you can't really see it, touch it or measure it, its easy to deny its existance. But like a restless ghost haunting the corporate corridors, surpressed creativity causes unrest and job dissatisfaction while depriving corporations of their employees' energies and long-term loyalty. So regardless of an employee's initial enthusiasm, Jack eventually becomes a dull corporate boy.

Drawing from her forthcoming book by the same name, Ms. Fulmer, illuminates the unfortunate tendency of corporate management to shape their companies in their own image, however left-brained and uncreative that may be.

With great humor and the the insights derived from years of corporate management experience, Ms. Fulmer provides an intriguing look at creativity and what some major corporations are doing to harness this formidable force.
